My family and I went to the Arizona Renaissance Festival last year and had the BEST time!
As we headed back in time, one of the first stops was the Black Swan Company ~ Wooden Swords and Shields!
My son made a bee line inside and instantly found a realistically painted sword.  He handed it to my 2 year old daughter and she didn't want to let it go....the very friendly craftsman proceeded to gift my daughter a small sword with a pink handle !

The Black Swan Craftsman with my son.
We were then off to play some games- knife throwing, star throwing and some other kind of throwing in which my husband had a good time doing but didn't have much success at.  I guess those Medieval games are harder than you would think- not as easy as some video game LOL!  After that defeat, hubby needed some reinforcements- a TURKEY leg of course!  We sampled some other treats: pizza, roasted corn, roasted cinnamon crunch almonds and frozen oranges with a yummy orange slush concoction on top.

We watched the comical and courageous Dextre Tripp,   "play" with fire and walk a tight-rope engulfed in flames.
The Clan Tynkers Family Circus whose hijinks, juggling and eclectic mix  of numbers kept the whole family laughing and awe- seriously a great show!

We watched some belly dancers near the Joust arena and my daughter loved playing in the dress shoppe.

One of the best things about being at the festival at the end of the day was the farewell at the exit- songs and merriment.
