It is time to get those Halloween costumes done! Really, that is a note to myself. We haven't finished our family-themed Wizard of Oz yet. Our family-themed idea (if it works out) is all centered around my daughter being Dorothy with an extremely discounted costume from last year! My son always changes his mind though, so I am hoping he joins us as the Scarecrow. I will keep you guys posted.We are trying to DIY (not sew- I am not that handy) the rest of the costumes and naturally I have been seeking what we need at some of our local re-sale stores. Below is my list of where to find great Halloween costumes at a fraction of the price. Most people only use the costumes 1 night and they are still in great condition or create your own with pieces you find in these stores. 1st Rate 2nd Hand Thrift Store (Tucson):
This delightful thrift store is located centrally. If you want to check them out for adult costumes and/or accessories they have some great DIY options. Many things could easily work for kiddos as well , be sure to use the Arizona Families coupon above to get $5 off any $25 purchase!
Buffalo Exchange (Tucson/Phoenix):
The three locations in Tucson are getting really stocked-up on Halloween trade-ins. Although, they cater to adults there are many pieces that could work for the kiddos too. Accessories of all sorts including wigs, jewelry, make-up and even some of the costume items will fit the adults dressing-up and the older kids in the familia! I am always thrilled with their Dia de los muertos items new and used as well.

Lil' Traders (Tucson):
This store is the best! Those Halloween racks full of costumes for kids 0-3 months through size 12 are front and center this time of year. You can always call the lovely Lynne or Katy to check if they have what you are looking for...they are also willing to keep an eye out for you. It really pays to help support local businesses like Lil' Traders because they support you back, always going the extra mile to help you find the right costume for your kiddos.

If you are on the NW side of town, this resale shop is located near you and is always stock full of merchandise. Check them out for Halloween ideas for the kiddos.
There are quite a few locations to checkout Tucson, Sierra Vista and Phoenix! They have so much to choose from. It looks like some are getting all decked out for the holiday too. Kids will love to see the decorations while you find the perfect costume at a great price. We love Twice As Nice and it is perfect to get your gently used costume and even watch for the New With Tags items!
