Little Mermaid Ariel and Under the Sea Birthday Party

My daughter recently celebrated her 5th birthday. After our first trip to Disneyland this summer where she met Ariel, she has been intrigued by this particular princess and mermaids in general.
We decided that a Little Mermaid Ariel and Under the Sea birthday party would be fun! Of course, we are in the middle of the Sonoran Desert so I though long and hard about a venue and finally decided on Govinda's Natural Foods Buffet. They rent out their property for any type of event. The koi ponds and water oasis made it a little more "under the sea" than at our house with cactus and saguaros.

The hit of our party was a visit from Ariel herself. The fabulous company More to the Story Entertainment brings professional and playful princesses to your event! They sang songs, played games, read stories and gave the guests princess makeovers.

More to the Story Entertainment brought not only the pretty mermaid herself but a pirate friend and Jasmine stopped by too! The pirate was there to help with the boys that RSVP'd for a princess party. I was so unsure of what to do with them. More to the Story Entertainment really will help you run your party and keep the little guests engaged and having fun! They offer all types of characters and options - including photos -  for your party.
Visit the company on Facebook HERE too.

The treats were made by Sweet Rush Boutique and were fabulous. We had seashell cookies, mermaid tail cupcakes and a small royal cake. Her creations always look great and taste heavenly.

The decorations were all from thrift stores and my daughter's toys. We found nets different scarves and tablecloths that followed the color scheme of aqua and lavender. We added easels and glass fishbowls with scenes of Ariel, Eric, Flounder and Sebastian. I added goldfish crackers to the little "starfish" bowls.

We kept the food simple. The kids were there to play with the Ariel and each other more than they care about a chef's meal. We opted for one of our favorites; Mama's Pizza Family size pizzas. Ask them to cut them into square pieces, which are smaller and easier for kids to handle.  Add some drinks, fruit and goldfish and you are done. Easy-peasy!

We loved out Little Mermaid Ariel and Under the Sea Party in the middle of the desert.
