Tucson Happenings 2/23-2/27 Rodeo edition!


Wednesday 2/23/11(Like a weekend night for many of us with Rodeo Vacation)

What:Wicked Wednesday Program- A presentation on wicked and wild plant sin the gardens.  Flashlight tours on the hunt for these wicked guys will take place. Go HERE for more info.

What:Bookmans Game Night for Families-I saw a sign on their door last week and forgot to post about it.  The Speedway location is hosting this Wednesday nights and sounds like fun with many options to play different games and hang out with your family and others! For more info go HERE

THURSDAY 2/24/11

What:RODEO PARADE! Longest non-motorized parade in the US with over 200 floats. Ticketed grandstand seating next to the Rodeo Grounds includes pre-parade entertainment, $7, $5 for children 12 and under. For more information go HERE.

Cost: FREE unless purchasing grandstand tickets.




What: Butterfly Magic! This is still on through the end of April but just in case you would like to go while the kids are out of school :)  Awesome exhibit at the Tucson Botanical Gardens.

    WHAT:UofA Poetry Joey! I am so happy for another one!  We have been going to these for awhile and the last one even had refreshments for the first time!!! Ages 4-10 explore words through creative movement, exercises and music the theme is legends and myths!More info HERE.

    What:Dr. Seuss Storytime at Target There will be activities, coupons and giveaways!  I saw this in the Target ad but I also called and confirmed that Old Spanish Trail is participating...You may want to call your local target just to make sure :)

    What: Cookies and Kids The Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, Kids520.com, Chic-FilBowtique & more will be at Rock n' Babies Decorate and wear a t-shirt or onesie and receive 50% of 1 item and/or wear red, white and black for 50% off one item.  Elmo stickers around the store for 24% off items..     What: PIma Air and Space Museum Young Kids Program Kids learn about aviation through demos and stories and get to make and take a related craft home! Ages 4-7. Go HERE reservations are required.

    What:Toy Train Museum Open House!  we have gone before and should go again!  They have these free days periodically and the trains are really fun -yes the parents have a blast too! For more info go HERE and def. pay attention to directions if you have never been there before-I found it a bit tricky.
