Praxis Youth Conference-FREE!

This will be posted in Tucson Happenings but I felt that it should be seperate so that if you or someone you know would like to attend that they register .....It is free but it would be so that they know how much food and how to accomodate all!

This Year Praxis Conference; ART, ORGANIZING, and ACTIVISM, Will Be April 16th and 17th in Tucson, AZ

Saturday the conference will be at the Tucson Magnet High School, 400 North 2nd Av
Sunday the conference will be at the U of A in the Cesar Chavez building 1st and 2nd floor 1110E North Campus Tucson building 23

Art opens a space for critical thinking and possibility in which people/communities can create a vision for the future. Art activism has been a key element in social protest. In this conference participants will explore various mediums in which art is used to tie community together, creates space, express hidden conflicts, embodies hope, and is used as a form of resistance. The conference will also focus on the importance of community organizing and explore communities that have built power from the ground up to create systemic change. This will take place through a series of workshops based in theory and art as well as keynote speakers
