What:Baba Marimba Dance Party This family friendly dance party features Tucson's own Baba Marimba, a Word Music band playing traditional and original music; African Shona music, tangos, mambos, jazz, reggae,etc. The band features Stu Mortimer, Mark Haldaway, Heidi Wilson, Mike Ankomeus, Swami Robert Piezer, Ali Sherbiny on marimbas, drums, percussion, trumpet, saxophone, and dijeredoo. Immediately after the in-gallery story, participants will engage in an animal search to find examples of animals used in Latin American folk art! 1:30pm-3:00pm, Hecho a Mano/Made by Hand: After explorning the Tesoros del Pueblo: Latin American Folk Art exhibition, become inspired by all the animals and create your own animal out of clay. 2:00pm-3:00 pm, join a docent-led Spanish language tour of featured exhibitions: Tesoros del Pueblo: Latin American Folk Art, and Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray.
