We ♥ books in our household! We are also always looking for fun and educational activities to do together.
I had the opportunity to review Usborne products from consultant, Melissa Miller~ Check out the website HERE.
My 2 year old daughter is anxious to read and write. "A Squirrel's Tale" is encouraging here to understand the plot while following along the dotted lines with arrows. It features a cardboard squirrel that passes through a slot on each
page searching for his nuts. We even had to take our new book on the road!
My 6 year-old loved the book too and enjoyed showing his sister how to follow along while reading to her.
After, the car ride and brother's help, my daughter spent time by herself investigating the book alone ;)
Then, she asked to show me- and she sat on my lap and carefully moved the squirrel throughout the book!
My
son got his own set of cards titled, "100 Things to Spot in the Night
Sky". The first thing he said when he saw the package was, "WOW- 100!" The Usborne site explains the cards as, " Fact-filled cards to discover the night sky. See the
constellations, find out where and when to spot them, and how they got
their names. Find fascinating information about planets, meteors and
other starry sights."
We had just looked at and talked about Venus ~ so before bed both the kiddos went to look at it again before we read the card about Venus.
We also checked out the card on the moon with it's phases on the flip
side. I must say as my son read the card to me and knew almost all the
words including "seas" and "telescope"- I knew these cards were an excellent choice for him.
