We had such a good time attending the opening night of Aladdin Jr. Musical presented by Youth @ Performing Arts at Flowing Wells High School Theatre.
Everybody had a good time! When I asked my 2 year old daughter what her favorite part was she said, "The snake on the stick." She was referring to the staff above. My 2 year old was captivated and did well without an
intermission. The show runs about 1 hour and 30 minutes but runs
smoothly without a break. This worried me for a second and my hubby did
have to take her out for a sec for a drink but she wanted to come right
back in.
My kids were enthralled the entire show. The six year old loves live
shows. He said that he really enjoyed everything but he said that
"Princess Jasmine was pretty and that the special effects during the
cave scene were really cool". ♥
My senior mom loved it even though she didn't know the storyline at all. My husband said, "the Genie is really really good!".
A few other things that I noted and appreciated were the sets and the costumes. Not only are they beautiful and authentic but I liked how for the young girls the belly shirts were covered with material. Modesty in entertainment says so much to me for the quality of the supervision for youth performers! In addition, they allow different actors to be the lead parts. So the Genie and Jasmine and Aladdin may be different players then the ones I saw. Great thinking- so that more get a chance to shine. Way to go Youth @ Performing Arts!
