UApresents is hosting a taping of the popular NPR show
From the Top
at Centennial Hall on Sunday, Feb. 17. The show will feature
performances and captivating personal stories of extraordinary young
classical musicians from across the country, including
two local musicians:

CAMERON WILLIAMS
(piano), 13, is
from Tucson, Arizona where he is a student at Basis Tucson. He studies
piano with Tannis Gibson at the University of Arizona. He has attended
the Interlochen
Summer Arts Festival for three years and the International Institute of
Young Musicians at the University of Kansas for two years. Cameron
enjoys drama and foreign languages, having studied German, Mandarin, and
Russian.

AUGUSTUS WOODROW-TOMIZUKA
(guitar), 17, is
from Tucson, Arizona where he studies with Thomas Patterson. He placed
second in the Senior Youth Division of the 2012 Indiana International
Guitar Competition.
He has performed with indie band Picasso’s Wall, as well as with
various Mariachi groups, around the Tucson area. A student at Sonoran
Science Academy, he is passionate about conservation work and volunteers
at the Reid Park Zoo; in 2010, he traveled to Churchill,
Manitoba to study polar bears on scholarship.

16-year-old trumpeter Elmer Churampi, originally from Lima, Peru, currently studying at Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan;
11-year-old violinist Elli Choi from New York City, New York; and 15-year-old cellist Daniel Kaler
from Wilmette, Illinois.
