Market on The Move 60 lbs. of produce for $10- New Time 4/13/13




What:Market On The Move around 60 lbs. of produce for $10 You may even want to share your haul with a friend then it is only $5 each.  The lines are often long so be prepared for that as well :)
Market on the Move provides a Farmers’  Market atmosphere at locations throughout the Phoenix and Tucson Metropolitan areas where partners and supporters of this program can come on a regular basis to not only pick up the free produce for distribution but also to acquire health education on Diabetes and Cancer Prevention as well as many other health issues.The volume of produce being thrown way exceeds our ability to rescue and distribute it to the needy thereby creating a need for thousands of partners and supporters to join with us in our food rescue efforts. Varieties for this Saturday's MOM events from 7 to 10 a.m. are:Tomorrow's varieties include: tomatoes (Roma and regular), peppers (bell and mini), cucumber, squash (Italian and yellow), butternut squash. Not sure if all locations will have corn and green beans.    More info HERE

    I just wanted to let people know that this is real, nothing sketchy about this program at all. My neighbor participates and has occasionally asked if I'd like a share of it, it is a TON of food for the money. I had a few days of prepping and freezing but to save that money was well worth it.

    it is sparse in the summer- You can see the schedule here- there is usually one location every weekend and only every other in Tucons or PHX...in the Fall they will be back to many locations every Saturday! http://the3000club.org/os/index.php?option=com_jevents&view=cat&task=cat.listevents&Itemid=89
