What:Celebrate Cinco de Mayo like a Tucsonense at the Dia de San Juan Fiesta Committee’s Cinco de Mayo Tareada and Silent Auction Music will be provided by various local entertainers including The Jons, and conjunto Noteño. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. In addition to music and dancing a silent auction will feature treasures donated by area merchants and residents.When: Sunday, May 5, 2013, 2-7 p.m Where: El Casino Ballroom, 437 E. 26th  Cost: $10/person.

What: Second Annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at the Fort and Tucson’s First Annual Tortilla Festival. This will be a celebration of Mexican folklore, art, music, and tortilla sampling. What:Meet cool critters - in the cool of the Museum. Presented by Ed Moll with the Tucson Herpetological Society.Arizona is a great place to be a herpetologist. Some 52 species of snakes, 49 species of lizards and 6 turtles and tortoises have Arizona Zip Codes. With so many of these scaly neighbors, visitors and residents alike are bound to have regular contact with these intriguing animals during our warm months. This programs provides an informative introduction to those that we are likely to encounter in our part of the Sonoran Desert. Exciting, interactive program. What: Free five minute session with Elizabeth, our new professional photographer friend (you can check out her cool site here)!  The pictures will be taken in La Encantada's beautiful courtyard, so they are sure to be absolutely lovely.  A week later she will have a free 5x7 portrait of your child (just in time for Mother's Day, wink wink) available for pick-up at the store.  When:  11:30-2:30, so make sure to pencil her in! The town began to shake and around the corner the tailor saw a GIANT! What:Folk Festival- Children's’ Show This year the Children's Show features Charley’s playful and kidlike energy on full display on the Courtyard Stage from 1 – 2 pm. His way with kids can be magical while he often gets them to participate and interact with the music and each other in any number of different ways.  More info on the festival HEREWhen:Saturday May 5th, 1-2 The Folk Festival is on Saturday and Sunday -There will be young artists on stage Sunday 12-2:30pm too!

We'll have great food and drink specials, outside food at the snack shack, and tequila tasting tables. What:Puppets Amongus presents Archipelago With a handmade cast of characters, finely made staging and live acoustic music, Puppets Amongus revives the ancient art of storytelling through puppet shows, parades, and improvised street theater. Puppets Amongus makes and works with a variety of puppetry styles- shadow puppets, hand puppets and giant carnival-style puppets, bringing the viewer a multi-layered, sensory experience. In the past year, the group has traveled to Central Asia, and has opened a puppet theater in downtown Tucson. When: Saturday 4 May and Sunday 5 May 11am Where: MOCA Tucson 265 S.
