Rainforest Cafe Arizona Mills Family Fun and More!

We recently had the opportunity to go to the Rainforest cafe in Tempe, AZ at Arizona Mills. (5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle)

We sat right near a fun aquarium in between the elephants and monkeys. The elephants and monkeys periodically move and make noises, especially when the rainforest gets a storm.  We later got to take a tour and the kids got to see all the "behind the scenes" computer and timers that make the place run. My son was still talking about the "alligator eye" piece that he got to hold a week later.
Rainforest Cafe had surprisingly tasty food.  I was thinking that it would be basic American fare but there were interesting options that we tried like the cha cha appetizer. It was too spicy for the kids but great for us and appeared to have a few healthy veggies stuffed inside to counter the fried shell. ;)  The tortilla chips were really really good.  When I mentioned that, I was informed that they make thier own tortilla chips in house. I am not sure why but the red colored ones were great.
The kids meals are a good size. Don't miss the opportunity to get your kiddos the special cup which comes with a small toy in the bottom (this is a good way to avoid the gift shop if you wish).   The traditional cup is Cha Cha, the tree frog but they also periodically offer a second choice.  We opted for the Jaguar cups. Right now they are running a fun promotion with Kids Night- the mascot Cha Cha will be there and kids meals for children 10 and under with adult purchase are only $2.99 after 5 p.m. on Wednesdays!

A few other things that I learned are:
You can book a field trip to the Rain Forest Cafe and they include a meal and educational tour about rainforest life and conservation.
This particular Rainforest Cafe also works with a lot of community events and has fun growth charts with free Kids Meal coupons and more to offer for your next school carnival or fundraiser.
Contact, James Ohm, the general manager and he will be glad to help out! Please let him know that you saw this on Arizona Families :) 480-752-9100
