Tucson College and Cinderella’s Closet Partner to Give Tucson
Students Free Prom Dresses at 2nd Annual Prom-O-Rama

Tucson, AZ (February 18, 2014) – The 2nd Annual Prom-O-Rama is coming to Tucson, and a rainbow of color will be flowing through Tucson College’s campus soon. In an effort to keep costs down for Pima County high school girls attending their proms, Cinderella’s Closet and Tucson College have partnered to give away hundreds of FREE prom dresses on March 1, 2014.

“We are so excited to offer this opportunity to the Tucson community. Every girl should feel like a princess at their prom regardless of how much their budget is,” said Erin Kowalsky, High School Presenter for Tucson College and the organizer of the event. “Cinderella’s Closet provides free dresses to girls for prom. It’s an environmentally friendly, socially acceptable way to make memories!” said Melissa Tureaud, co-founder of Cinderella’s Closet.

The event is provided as a community service by Tucson College and Cinderella’s Closet, neither of which are profiting from this event; it is designed to help teenage girls and their families find a beautiful dress at no cost and for which they may not otherwise be able to do. 

Tucson College’s Campus Director, Lillie Roman, said, “Prom is a very exciting time in a young person’s life, and I love that we can help pair these teens up with the resources to find the perfect dress to fulfill their high school experience.”

The event starts at 10am and ends at 2pm on Saturday, March 1st. The event will not only have dresses, but will showcase multiple vendors including: Top Hat Formal Wear, Nails2Gogo, Dodson Photography, Evergreen Flowers, Jennie Madden- Independent Distributor/Premier Designs Jewelry, Belly Beauty Solutions, Wax Werks, JTED Academy of Cosmetology, and other vendors with prom accessories. 

Savers and Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona are special partners to help make the event a success. Attendees can enter to win door prizes, which include a free tux rental, a deluxe mani-pedi and other prizes.
