Mad Science Birthday Party

My oldest just turned 8 and celebrated with a Mad Science Birthday Party. His favorite color is green and we made yellow and green the main colors at the fiesta. All of these great photos were taken by Alma Alvarado- freelance photographer available for your next event! See her portfolio here:http://about.me/AlmaAlvarado/

Lucky Lime Eegee's - yes, you can order many of the flavors that you love with 5 days pre-ordering at catering HERE.  I made the "beaker" cups from $1 store plastic cups and a black marker :)

One of my favorite decorations that are both simple and cheap are homemade pom poms.  I lucked out because there were mixed green and yellow tissue packs on clearance for under $1 and it made 1 large-sized one for each color.  Check out the easy tutorial here from fellow AZ blogger Erin at The Crafty Spot.

Mad Science of Tucson is FABULOUS!  All the experiments kept the kids full attention from ages 4-75! To check out all of their party offerings and more go to http://tucson.madscience.org

The tools of the trade for Mad Scientist, "Kronos" from Mad Science of Tucson.

FOAM!
DRY ICE!

SOMETHING GREEN!

TAKE-HOME SLIME

I made a watermelon brain for the fruit table to eat or just display.  We kept the food simple with fruit and bite size chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-a El Con.

Leyla from Sweet Rush Boutique made a wacky and wonderful 2 tier-cake exactly how my son wanted it.  Every kid wanted an eye and a leg!  The cookies are beakers and test tubes! She can make anything you can think of and she will help with the creative process as well.  See her other delightful creations here: https://www.facebook.com/SweetRushBoutique

These cookies from Sweet Rush Boutique look fabulous and taste even better!

We had a candy bar from Candy Collision Catering.  Shai was awesome when she came to set up and helped with the creativity of the yellow and green themed table.  See more of their designs for any occasion here: https://www.facebook.com/CandyCollisionCatering

The candy bar was supplied with real biohazard bags! Candy Collision Catering made it so fun for the kids to scoop and pick there take-home treats! Chick-fil-a El Con also gave each kid a FREE kids meal in their loot bags!

In addition to the candy bags, each kiddo took home a DIY  experiment.  I made these from mysterious liquid (diet soda) and white pods (mint MENTOS).

We had a fabulous time! All the details were fun to add to the festivities.  This party could be done inside our outside but the experiments with Mad Science of Tucson may get a bit messy.

Happy 8th Birthday Kiddo!
