“Aquila’s productions are beautifully spoken, dramatically revealing and crystalline in effect.” –The New Yorker
Appearing for the first time in Tucson, Aquila Theatre brings these time tested classics to an intimate, 400-seat theatre, lending its dynamic physical approach to two of the most famous works of world literature: The Tempest, Shakespeare’s magical tale of forgiveness and enlightenment, and Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë’s story of all-consuming passion.
Aquila Theatre was founded in 1991 in London and has been based in New York City since 1999. Aquila’s mission is to bring the greatest theatrical works to the greatest number. To this end Aquila presents a regular season of plays in New York, at international festivals, and tours to approximately seventy American towns and cities each year, making Aquila the foremost producer of touring classical theatre in the United States.
"An extraordinarily inventive and disciplined outfit" –The New York Times
