There are quite a few things happening on MLK Day in Tucson for families to enjoy and participate in.
What: 30th Annual Martin Luther King Day March This year’s venue has changed. Prior to marching, participants will hear from elected officials and other community leaders. Once the remarks conclude, participants will march to Armory Park for the festival which will feature speakers, music, dancers, food booths and informational booths.

What: FREE Film Through a Lens Darkly The first documentary to explore the role of photography in shaping the identity, aspirations and social emergence of African Americans from slavery to present, Through a Lens Darkly traces the nearly 200-year struggle to counter demeaning and stereotyped images with positive and authentic ones, probing the recesses of American history by discovering photographs that have been suppressed, forgotten and lost.

Families will enjoy a great day together with Old Tucson's signature live stunt shows, comedy, and musical shows along with living history presentations that describe life in the real Old West. Take a tour with Old Tucson historians highlighting film history and movies that were made on the historic sets over the last 75 years.

Cost: Children ages 4-11 will be 75 cents, and children 3 and under are admitted free as always. Adults $17.95
What: MLK Day of Service at Tucson Village Farm Our chickens say “come make us treats, please!” Come on out this Monday the 19th to make chicken treats, save sunflower seeds, harvest worm castings, and much more at our 6th annual MLK day of service event. All ages welcome!
