Martin Luther King Day Events Tucson #MLK #Tucson 1/19/15

There are quite a few things happening on MLK Day in Tucson for families to enjoy and participate in.

What: 30th Annual Martin Luther King Day March  This year’s venue has changed. Prior to marching, participants will hear from elected officials and other community leaders. Once the remarks conclude, participants will march to Armory Park for the festival which will feature speakers, music, dancers, food booths and informational booths.
When: Monday, January 19, 2015 at 9am Marchers will gather at Santa Rita Park at 8:00 AM 
Where: Marchers will gather at Santa Rita Park401 E. 22nd Street Tucson

What: 30th Annual Martin Luther King Day Festival which will feature speakers, music, dancers, food booths and informational booths. 
When: Monday, January 19, 2015 10-3  
Where:Armory Park221 S 6th Ave - Across from The Children's Museum

What:Freedom Songs Sing-a-long MLK Day Ted Warmbrand will lead us through some wonderful singable examples which carried freedom fighters of yore through the tumult and strife of their times, and face it with courage.
When:Monday, January 19, 2015 3-5pm
Where:Temple Emanu-El, 225 North Country Club Road

What: FREE Film Through a Lens Darkly The first documentary to explore the role of photography in shaping the identity, aspirations and social emergence of African Americans from slavery to present, Through a Lens Darkly traces the nearly 200-year struggle to counter demeaning and stereotyped images with positive and authentic ones, probing the recesses of American history by discovering photographs that have been suppressed, forgotten and lost.

What: FREE Entrance Day to all National Parks All INFO HERE

What: Family Fun Day a festive day of exploration and creativity designed especially for children and their families! 
When: Monday, Jan. 19  10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where:at Tucson Botanical Gardens 
Cost: Free with admission ($13 Adults | $12 Student/Senior/Military | $7.50 Children 4-12 Children 3 and under and Members are always free!)

What: 75th Anniversary Celebration with a 75¢ Kids Weekend! Families will enjoy a great day together with Old Tucson's signature live stunt shows, comedy, and musical shows along with living history presentations that describe life in the real Old West. Take a tour with Old Tucson historians highlighting film history and movies that were made on the historic sets over the last 75 years. 
When: Monday, January 19, 2015 10am-5pm
Where: Old Tucson Studios, 201 South Kinney Road
Cost: Children ages 4-11 will be 75 cents, and children 3 and under are admitted free as always. Adults $17.95

What: MLK Day of Service at Tucson Village Farm Our chickens say “come make us treats, please!” Come on out this Monday the 19th to make chicken treats, save sunflower seeds, harvest worm castings, and much more at our 6th annual MLK day of service event. All ages welcome! 
When: Monday, January 19, 2015  9am- noon.

What:Pony Rides and Petting ZooThe Rockin Star Ranch will be OPEN tomorrow, Martin Luther King Day, Jan 19, 2015, with $5 all day petting zoo, $5 pony rides, cart rides, horse rides, and $30 unlimited ride wristbands. 8050 east tanque verde rd tucson. What: Downtown JAZZ Fiesta A day-long free festival, the Downtown Jazz Fiesta, will feature the best of Tucson on two outdoor stages all day on Martin Luther King Day.
When: Monday, January 19, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where:MLK Stage at Toole and Fifth Avenue AND  Connect Stage (in courtyard behind Connect Coworking, 33 S. Fifth Ave)

What: Pima County Library Community Sale Monday- $10 Bag Day
When: Monday, January 19  9:00am to 4:00pm
Cost: FREE to browse :)
