Partnering with UA units and departments, our summer enrichment programs offer stimulating day and overnight camps that provide students with the rare opportunity to explore future academic and career paths while learning within an exciting university environment. Axé Capoeira Tucson ~ Axé Capoeira Tucson is hosting a Summer Camp for kids ages 6 & up! Featuring Kid’s Capoeira and Kid’s Zumba. June1-5. Half day option: (9am - Noon) Includes a kids capoeira class and a kids Zumba class, a healthy snack, fun lessons about nutrition, geography, culture, and history, and lots of games! Full day option: (9am - 3pm) Includes a kids capoeira class and a kids Zumba class, two healthy snacks, fun lessons about nutrition, geography, culture, and history, a fun craft to take home, Brazilian music and dance classes, and lots of fun games! Things for the child to bring: water bottle with name on it, sack lunch with name on it (full day option only), tennis shoes, active clothing. Last year’s SUMMER CAMP was so successful that were are more than TRIPLING it this year! Open to 3rd grade thru High school students who want to learn to ROCK OUT! Drums, Bass, Guitar ,Piano & Vocals as well as recording sessions and live jams will all be a part of this year’s camp. A live performance at the end of each week will be the culmination of all the fun and hard work of the participants. Snacks and lunch will be included each day. Max of 25 students/ week Camp #1 6/8 – 6/12: 9:00a – 12:30p Age 8-12
Camp #2 6/15 – 6/19- 9:00a - 3:00p Age 13+ Camp #2 6/15 – 6/19- 9:00a - 3:00p Age 13+ Older students can enroll for either Camp 2 alone or Camp 2 .& 3 (not Camp 3 alone.) Camp 1 = $185.00 (+$25 for non D&D) Camp 2 = $260.00 (+$25 for non D&D) Camp 2 & 3 = $470.00 (+$25 for non D&D) The emphasis of these three weeks is to have fun learning to play in group ensembles in rock, funk jazz and other styles. We have the place for you!Explore a different art form each week through a variety of mediums and techniques!Days and Times: Camps are available in one week increments. Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona ~ has an amazing, empowering, and energetic summer planned for girls. Camps are offered to all girls ages 5-18. You don’t have to be in a troop. Humane Society of Southern Arizona ~ Dog Days in the Desert Summer Camps - These fun and instructive four day programs utilize classroom activities, individual and group projects, arts and crafts, guest speakers and hands-on animal interaction to teach children about animal care and their humane responsibility towards animals. A large part of the daily curriculum will include foster care of Humane Society shelter animals, including kittens, and several smaller animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rabbits, rats and ball pythons. Pet VIP therapy dogs will also be onsite for daily socialization. At the finalization of the four day program participants will celebrate in a fun recognition party. 3 age groups 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14. Live Theatre Workshop ~Live Theatre Workshops summer camps are a one week music, acting, dancing, and technical theatre experience. Each camp is a week-long arranged by age and grade level-all skill levels are welcome. All of our instructors are trained to introduce and teach in a way that makes the entire experience fun and educational in a safe and low-pressure environment. While students will be very busy learning lines, acting, singing, dancing, building sets, and producing their play; there is plenty of time for acting improvisation and theatre games. Our goal here at LTW is to focus on the process of the putting together a production. We feel all students should understand what it takes to put on a show from start to finish with a focus on teamwork, personal responsibility, and thinking outside of the box. Ages range from 6-18. Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures~ clubHOUSE is a daily, drop-in afternoon program for kids ages 5-12 at The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures. Parents can drop the kids off to make miniature arts and crafts, play games and practice yoga and gymnastics! Each day, kids will complete a small miniature project that they can take home. Troubadour Theatre ~ Troubadour Theatre Camp--Troubadour offers day camps in acting, musical theatre, music, and art. Theatre students take part in all aspects of a full production, including acting, costume design, scenic painting, and more.
