Inside Out with the short film Lava was so funny and we all LOVED it! The entire family will laugh (and some may cry- like me!). This movie is Disney Pixar's best movie since the Toy Story series. It is a universal movie that boys, girls, men, and women of all ages and stages will enjoy. The story follows Riley- an 11 year-old girl as she grows up and moves from Minnesota to San Francisco. The emotions- Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust run the memory headquarters in her head. They are all likeable characters because they make up all of our personalities. Some may be more influential than others. :) As the movie concludes it is pretty hard to experience Joy without Sadness.
My kids wanted to do their own "review", so here it is:
They talked about their personality "islands" activity. The personality islands in the movie are the main components that make up Riley's personality. I think this is a great activity to do every summer with your kids to see how they grow and change and become more complex, just like Riley in the film.
There are fun things thrown in for the more mature viewer such as how the parents emotions run their heads and as Riley gets older their is a control button in her revamped memory headquarters console for "Puberty". My kids were like- what is that? I will have to explain later outside of the theatre. Haven't quite discussed it yet- but will.
As the movie ends and Joy explains that they, "Love their girl and she is 12- what could happen?' We may be in for a sequel or trilogy and I hope we are.
I do not own any of the Disney Pixar's Inside Out photos of the film. I previewed this movie in exchange for my review. All thoughts are most definitely mine and those of my family.
