Have you been to the Mesa Arts Center? It’s awesome! Not only does it have a museum and wonderful outdoor spaces, but they regularly offer all kinds of classes and they have 4 live performance venues, including the 1,600 seat Ikeda Theater.
Today a friend and I took our kiddos there to see Sesame Street Live – Let’s Dance, and while I was a bit worried it may be geared towards only pre-schoolers and that our kids would be bored (they’re 7) they loved it! Even my friend’s 7 month old infant was enthralled and dancing.
Let’s Dance is very interactive with streamers,
confetti, and even giant inflatable balls.
The show is broken up in to several smaller
skits, and in between each one, audience participation is encouraged during “Dance
Parties”. The Sesame Street characters
teach the kids all kinds of dance moves.
It was truly fun for all 5 of us. They even included puns and other little subtle
humorous elements to entertain the adults the way the Sesame Street TV show
does. In addition to the skits and “Dance Parties”, the characters spend a lot
of time dancing in the aisles, which made for some great impromptu photo ops for
families.
If your Sunday is free, fill it with this!
