Race to The Gaslight Theatre to Kick Off the Holiday Season

The Christmastime show, Race to the North Pole is currently at The Gaslight Theatre. It is full of all the audience participation where we can cheer the good guys and boo the bad guys. My family always enjoys the melodrama close-up at the Gaslight Theatre and this time the twinkling Christmas lights made it feel even more nostalgic. The international flair, highlighted by costumes, dance and music were especially fun for all of us as the players travel the globe.

The story follows a Christmas Show in the 1920's. We learn that Fearless Frazier played by Jacob Brown and Scat Sweeney played by Jake Coffin are trying to escape the city and a debt they owe to some tough-talking "lenders".  The gals of the Follies show, Sandy and Dorothy played by Janee Page and Erin Thompson respectively are songstresses that keep spreading the holiday cheer. Their fun and bubbly leader, played by Jacinda Swinehart is ready to get the show on the road. They all take off to travel the world and the "bad guys" follow them. Max Pommade played by Todd Thompson and his right-hand man, Knuckles played by Armen Dirtadian are ready to get their money back by any means possible. Wilhelm - the human cannonball played by Mike Yarema and Hilda his faithful assistant (and fabulous singer) played by Chris Colombo try and stop the Follies from happening because Wilhelm HATES Christmas. Eventually, all the evil-minded, Santa-hating, "scroogy", Christmas-bashing characters join up to ruin Christams at the North Pole but........................

in the true spirit of the season we know they will turn around with some encouragement from the big man in red himself!

The Olios are good ole country version of Christmas songs with guests like "Dolly Parton" and some very curious, human-like reindeer.

The show runs 11/12-1/3 and all dates and times are listed on my holiday calendar HERE.
