What:El dia de San Juan fiesta!  The 20th Annual El Dia De San Juan Fiesta
A CELEBRATION OF AUTHENTIC TUCSON CULTURE & HISTORY  This year’s event is organized by El Dia De San Juan Committee and facilitated by the offices of Vice Mayor Regina Romero and Supervisor Richard Elias. Collectively, we invite the public to the 20th Annual El Dia de San Juan Fiesta Saturday, June 24 from 5-10PM at West Congress and South Avenida del Convento, behind the Mercado San Agustin. The Fiesta will feature a procession, live music and dance, food and arts & crafts vendors, games and activities for children, and free water. As always, the Fiesta is free and open to the public. Dia de San Juan Fiesta is non-alcoholic and boasts a family-friendly atmosphere.

El Dia de San Juan honors St. John the Baptist, and has been celebrated by families in Tucson for over a century. Local tradition hails St. John the Baptist as the one who brings the rains, kicking off the monsoon season in the Old Pueblo. The Fiesta procession will start at 5:30PM at the Mission Garden with an antique statue of San Juan Bautista. Prayers from several cultural traditions are offered.

Following the procession, the Fiesta goes into full swing. There will be entertainment, including The Lopez Family Band, Mariachi Bellas Musicales and performances from Folklorico and Hip Hop dancers. In keeping with the theme of the monsoon season and renewal, free water bottles are provided to Fiesta attendees.
