The Phantom Takes Over
The Gaslight Theatre Tucson
{A Giveaway}
What can you expect when the Phantom takes over the Gaslight Theatre in Tucson? It is a little spooky, not too scary, and even the hangings are done "a la" Gaslight!
Arizona Families loves Gaslight Theatre and is provided tickets to give and attend free of charge in exchange for sharing show information. All photos from Arizona Families. |
If you love Phantom you will enjoy the Gaslight's take on the familiar story. If you don't love Phantom (gasp!) you will still have fun watching their take on the familiar story. If you have never seen Phantom, you will love their take on the "unfamiliar to you" story.
Reasons for the Phantom Lovers to see this show:
1.All the characters you love will be represented and then some.
2.The songs may be just a bit different but you can sing and dance a long!
3. Haven't you always wanted to boo or cheer during Phantom of the Opera? Now is your chance.
Reasons for the Phantom Naysayers to head over to the Gaslight:
1. The show is Gaslight melodrama at it's finest -the costumes are lavish, the sets are creative, witty lines, the characters are not super serious, the actors are having fun! Don't worry its not too romantic and never slow.
2. The chandelier is still going to fall, it will swing and you may be surprised at how cool it looks but not shocked or frightened too much.
3. Haven't you always wanted to boo or cheer during Phantom of the Opera? Now is your chance.
Reasons for the Phantom Curious to come to a performance:
1.This is a family-friendly version of Phantom- nothing too intense. The murderous antics of the Phantom are cartoonish and make for a great Halloween-time family show.
SPOILER ALERT:
2. The mask does come off at some point!
3. Haven't you always wanted to decide if you want to boo or cheer during Phantom of the Opera? Now is your chance.
This is a great Fall/Halloween time show to take the entire family to enjoy not only the performance but some popcorn, pizza, and ice cream too.
Don't forget that the Gaslight shows come with 2 shows for one! The Olios are very "hairy" this time around as the actors take on the "Age of Aquarius".

ReplyDeleteFor the last 7 years, my wife and I have taken our kids to most of the shows and we have celebrated our wedding anniversary with our kid's at The Gaslight Theatre. We will go even if we don't win, but it would be a nice treat. After the last Phantom, my daughter was the Phantom for Halloween and my son was the Persian.
