10 Reasons Your Entire Family Will Love The Belle of Tombstone {Gaslight Theatre Giveaway}

 10 Reasons Your Entire Family Will Love The Belle of Tombstone {Gaslight Theatre Giveaway}

We have been heading over to the Gaslight Theatre for the past 8 years and try not to miss any of their shows. The western themed melodramas are some of our favorites. There is something in this show that everyone will enjoy. Take the littles out and don't worry if they make noise, the audience is supposed to hoot and holler. Take those moody teens and tweens out to something they can actually put down the device for with the fam. Get mom and dad out of the house- no cooking, no dishes, and bring the grandparents too!
See below for a chance to win free tickets.

The Gaslight Theatre presents The Belle of Tombstone playing now through March 31st!

Reason #1
Always fierce female leads.
The "Belle" of Tombstone is played by Heather Stricker and she is every part the boss lady. Who doesn't look up to a business woman dressed in the fabulous western gowns who helps out the good guys and rustles the cowboys out of her saloon. Postive role models are always great to see.

Reason #2
The silly, yet lovable characters.
Your kids will love that there's a place for everyone to make their mark, even in the wild west for guys like Frank, played by Jacob Brown. These are the type of characters just waiting to strike it rich the honest way and maybe he does (wink). He's always killin' 'em with kindness not a six-shooter.

Reason #3
The "romantic" parts
The little ones will giggle and the tweens will blush at the antics of Margarita (Janee Page) as she shows her intense affection for  Ringo (Todd Thompson). Their playful "love" seems to really be a ploy by Margarita to lasso herself a bad rich guy but who knows maybe it runs deeper.

Mike Yarema as Jack Diamond and Charlie Hall as San Pecos Sam
Reason #4
The "Bad Guys"
The wild wild west was not won without some gun slingin' and this show gives us plenty of it. You know that someone in the family is a little on the mischievous side and loves to root (maybe secretly) for these guys. They dress in black and shoot their weapons for fun all while drinkin'. Sounds like a good time to some of us, maybe Nana?

Reason #5
The "Good Guys"
As much as there has to be somebody in your crew that relates to the bad guys, there is a straight-laced, superhero loving kiddo or dad too! Bringing the cheese and the "save the day" attitude for sure is Ned Witman,played by Jake Chapman. He can ride a horse day or night while strummin' his guitar and savin' everyone. What's not to love?

Reason #6
The action scenes
Who loves action films in your family? Western style shootouts and slow-mo fist fights will keep them engaged and waiting patiently to get through scenes that the Reason #3 peeps like.

Reason #7
The music
The Gaslight Theatre has some fabulous musicians that keep the show going live. Adam Ackerman along with the bassist,  Derek Norman never miss a beat. The musical director and piano player extraordinaire, Linda Ackerman races her fingers across the keys. At one point, one of the more sinister characters even messes with Linda's keys- but she just keeps on truckin'.

Erin Thompson as Minnie Pearl and David Orley as Porter Wagner
Reason #8
The Olios
The Olios that follow the melodrama, show off more of the talented Gaslight crew. If you are a fan of country music and the Grand Ol' Opry, you will be singing' right along with these fabulous tunes!
Reason #9
The Food
Our family always orders the mini chimis, chicken strips, or pizza every time we go to The Gaslight Theatre because those are our absolute faves. My "mom rule" is the kids can choose a soda or ice cream and I follow it too! The ice cream is the winner 99.9% of the time. The Gaslight also offers free cones for people celebrating so be sure to let the staff know!

Reason #10
The Gaslight Community Feel
They are such a great community partner that also honors the military, does special giveaways for families that are going through tough times, and always have good old fashioned family fun. Their camaraderie on and off stage is evident and it makes it even that much more fun to see this hard-workin' cast make a family night feel like a ride off into the sunset.
