STOMP - Inspirational Fun Today 2pm and 8pm!

What:STOMP! Feel the rhythms reverberate through you and inspire you! A funny and fantastic event!  I went last night with my son and my mom.  Three different generations had a blast!  My mom, a musician loved the musicality and the amazing powerful performances, especially by one of the young women who always seemed to dance with everything she did, even if she was just "playing" a plastic bag as her instrument. In fact, my mom said, "They can really make something out of nothing!"  I think that is part of the larger theme and message of the show.  Use what you have in order to make music in your life.

My son enjoyed the drumming (as I expected).  He is six years old and has had a full size drum set in his room since he was 2!  He was drumming along on his knees and on us too!  However, he also laughed out loud so many times at the comedic elements of the show.  I asked him if he wanted to go and take some real drum lessons and I think the performance may have inspired him to do that.

I also liked drumming along and wished that maybe I could have been standing because I love to dance and many of the rhythms were conducive to that.  There were many opportunities for audience participation and the intimacy of the TCC Musical Hall provided for a true "part of the show" experience.  I was also inspired to go back to drumming.  I played the snare in band, have messed around with djembes and djembaos and the set in my son's room.  Maybe we will take lessons together.

Get yourselves out today to a fun and inspirational show! I would recommend taking your kiddos to the restroom right before the show so that no bathroom breaks are needed once the 90 minute non-stop stomping starts.
