The Titan Missile Museum will hold its one-time summer event, Moonlight MADness, this Saturday, August 13. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the missile site and see the 7-story Titan II Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) lit up in the launch duct during this summer evening program, which will take place at the museum from 5:00-9:00pm.
“Not only is it a cooler time to visit the museum” said Yvonne Morris, Museum Director, “but it’s a great event for the entire family.”
In addition to touring the museum, children will have the opportunity to build, test and take home their own balloon powered rocket. This activity will demonstrate the principle that a rocket or airplane must have its center of gravity in front of the center of pressure in order to have a stable flight.
Moonlight MADness is the museum’s one-time special summer-evening event. $7.00 Admission for adults and kids 12 and under are FREE when accompanied by an adult. Moonlight MADness tours of the underground facility begin at 5:00 p.m., with the final tour starting at 8:00 p.m. Due to space limitations, reservations are required. For reservations or more information call 520 625-7736. Admission to Moonlight MADness is free for museum members.
