10 Ways to Cool Down at Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure {Disney Tips}

10 Ways to Cool Down at Disneyland Resort
and Disney California Adventure
{Disney Tips}

We go to Disneyland in the summer frequently. Although the mornings are usually perfect and the evenings can even get a bit chilly, the midday sun can get hot! Here are our top 10 ways to cool down at The Happiest Place on Earth.

1. Eat a cold treat. There are so many great choices at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Everything  from Dole Whips to Mickey bars.

2. Take an inside dark ride. At Disneyland, we recommend Small World, Pirates of the Carribean, Indiana Jones - the ques are quite shady on the last two and cool as well as. At DCA, Soarin' is refreshing and relaxing. The Little Mermaid is also a nice dark ride with typically short wait times. You may want to ride a few times if the line is very short.

3. Ride the Disneyland Railroad, set to be back up and running on July 28, 2017! You can ride the train around with the breeze blowing in your hair or even possibly take a quick nap if needed. I have never fallen asleep it but I have seen people do it. I was able to ride the Lilly Belle once and it was such a once-in-a-lifetime-experience. Make sure to ask about that when the Railroad reopens.

4. Cool down at the Animation Studio at Disney California Adventure. The theatre area to wait for animation classes or Turtle Talk with Crush is the coolest AC that I have felt anywhere in the Disney resorts plus you can draw a fun Disney character.

5.Stay at a Disney property or any of the fabulous hotels in quick walking distance and go back for a midday nap or dip in the pool. We love many of the offers from our affiliate Getaway Today HERE like Desert Palms, Hyatt Place, and Springhill Suites. The Grand Legacy is also an exceptional option INFO HERE.

6. Get a free courtesy cup of water from service restaurants and stands. Small stands like churro stands do no thane the free courtesy water. To see a list of other fun Disney Freebies see HERE.

7.In Tomorrowland, the Star Wars Launch Bay is another great place to chill in the cool air and you can meet Chewie! Win-Win!

8. At DCA, the splash park at Bug's World will also cool you down quickly.

9. Visit Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. The waiting area is cool and it is great to take a quick sit down break before watching the show in the dark, AC- filled theatre.

10. Walking down Main Street during a hot time, walk through the stores and shops. Almost all are connected and you will cool off getting from one place to another.
