Kohl's Cares for Kids

Some of you may not know this but, Kohl's sells kid-friendly merchandise to help kids in our communities, with 100 percent of the net profit going to kids' health and education initiatives. Since the year 2000, more than $150 million has been raised nationwide.

Currently, Kohl's has the following merchandise as part of their Kohl's Cares program.  Each of these items sell for only $5:
  • Deceptively Delicious -by Jessica Seinfeld - Any parents of picky eaters out there?  Are you concerned that your child isn't getting the fruits and vegetables they need?  This book helps put easy back into making your kids eat.  The main focus, as the title suggests, is to deceptively disguise healthy foods into everyday, likeable meals.  Who knew you could put spinach into brownies?
  • The Green Book-One Simple Step at a Time- The authors, Rogers and Kostigen establish 12 aspects of our habitat, such as home, work, and school, and suggest better lifestyle choices in each arena. Small adjustments in the way we consume and dispose of resources add up to significant and positive environmental effects.  This is a great book to share as a family and discuss things that you can do together to help reduce waste.
  • Winnie the Pooh- Plush characters as well as Literature.
Consider these items as Christmas presents.  My kids always get a book or two from Santa.  I never wrap them but stand them up (fanned out) on other presents. Makes for a great Christmas morning picture. Since my oldest was 2,  I have always bought the books from Khol's, knowing that the proceeds would do other kids good, not just my own.

Did you know that every year, Kohl's recognizes and rewards young volunteers (ages 6-18) across the country for their amazing contributions to their communities?  I didn't, but I'm glad I stumbled upon this information for you.  If you have a child or know a child who does self-less acts in his/her community submit his/her story to earn them scholarships or prizes.  Find out all the information and details HERE.
